We're humbled that Daylesford and Hepburn Mineral Spring Co have been a Scarf Sponsor since the very early days of our program. DHMSCo are local through and through - their mineral water range is sourced from their spring in idyllic Daylesford, and they're constantly helping the local community in different ways, like donating a truck full of stock during the bushfires in January this year.

Founder and Director Brylie Rankine shared a few words about the challenges of 2020, why they continue to support Scarf, and hinted at some exciting things they have in the pipeline!

Scarf: How did this year's lockdowns impact DHMSCo and your team?

Brylie: COVID19 has been an emotional rollercoaster for my company and team, like I’m sure it’s been for many businesses. Navigating through lockdown 2.0 was without doubt harder than the first. This was not only due to the impact on sales but the emotional impact the lockdown had on my team and our customers.

We are a small team here at DHMSCo and have worked together for many years and while working from home became our new normal, at times the team felt very disjointed. Now we are all working again under the one roof and it feels as though the family is back!

Why is it more important than ever that the general public support Victorian hospitality businesses?

The Melbourne hospitality sector was definitely the hardest hit during the lockdown, we saw this when we analysed the data showing the suburbs that were able to continue to trade and order during COVID. We need to ensure these businesses are not forgotten by making Melbourne a destination to dine again. This support is not only important to the business itself but to the suppliers of these businesses.

Why did you choose to partner with Scarf?

We have chosen to continue supporting Scarf as we understand what an amazing concept and initiative Scarf is. When Hannah approached us in 2010 we couldn’t say no; we knew that Scarf would be a success and enable doors to be opened for many that would struggle without the training and guidance that Scarf provides.

What is DHMSCo currently offering, now and in the near future?

We're still offering beautiful Australian products but excitingly we’ll be looking a little different next year. We are taking this opportunity to make some packaging changes and have a little brand refresh. We also will be releasing a new range... Very exciting times ahead!
