Tasting Plate for Women '21

Please note: this program ran in 2021. We hope to run another Scarf Tasting Plate for Women soon; please share your details here if you wish to find out more about participating.

.

This Tasting Plate program is specifically for young women (18 - 30 years) from protection seeking, refugee or migrant backgrounds who are unemployed. It is a free program running thanks to support from Melbourne Women's Fund and will provide training, mentoring and paid work experience opportunities to 16 young women facing barriers to employment.

Taking part in a Scarf Tasting Plate program allows participants to gain crucial hospitality knowledge and skills, access to accredited training, and to build their networks, job-readiness and confidence. It also includes the option to engage in paid work experience during one or two special Scarf Dinners.

.

.Program Dates

- Tuesday 4 May 2021 (9.00am - 4.30pm)
- Wednesday 5 May 2021 (9.00am - 4.30pm)
- Friday 7 May 2021 (9.00am - 4.30pm)

Day 1 & 3 of the program will run at Five Senses Barista Academy, 300 Rosslyn St, Melbourne; Day 2 will run at Two Birds Brewing, 136 Hall St, Spotswood. There will be a free lunch provided each day of the program.

The program also includes two special Scarf Dinners, which will allow participants to engage in real, paid work experience with support from hospitality mentors. The dates for these dinners are Tuesday 25 May and Tuesday 8 June, 2021.
