Scarf Events 2024 Winter Scarf '24 We're holding two exciting events as part of our current 10-week seasonal program, Winter Scarf '24, which will provide paid work experience and mentoring opportunities to our newest group of trainees. By attending Scarf Events, you're the catalyst for the new trainees to grow their skills and confidence plus you’re helping to fund our social enterprise model which allows us to pay trainees and graduates award wages for their work. . Thursday 22 August Winter Scarf Roast Dinner at Stomping Ground Brewery & Beer Hall, 100 Gipps St, Collingwood Expect a delicious roast dinner and a special dessert to be enjoyed around the roaring fireplace, care of the talented Stomping Ground chefs. There'll be staggered bookings from 5.30pm onwards and lots of flexible seating options, from tables of 2, booths for 4, and picnic tables for groups of 10+. Stomping Ground have been a Scarf Partner since 2018, and we're excited to return to their Collingwood Brewery & Beer Hall after running seasonal Scarf Dinners there in 2021 (pictured) and 2018. . . Wednesday 4 September Winter Scarf Cocktails and Canapés at Starward Distillery, 50 Bertie St, Port Melbourne We'll be pairing top-notch cocktails with delicious canapés from the Starward team, in an event format that's new to Scarf. We'll be welcoming a panel of Graduates, Mentors, and Partners, to share their experience and insights of working with Scarf, with a plentiful grazing table and drinks flowing throughout the night. This unique event is a great opportunity to learn more about the Scarf Community, and network with the Scarf team, and some of our board members, hospitality partners, mentors, ambassadors, funders and more! Find out more about Scarf's new work experience model. . . Autumn Scarf '24 As part of Autumn Scarf '24 (our first 10-week Seasonal Program for 2024), we ran two special Scarf events at Rumi in May. These dinners provided front-of-house work experience our Autumn Scarf '24 trainee cohort - Kimiya, Sahand, Guli, Ndrah, Ali, Ku Hea Paw, Aida and Maram. They were supported by Scarf mentors - hospitality professionals volunteering their time - to run the front of house. A moreish Middle Eastern banquet was cooked by Rumi's experienced chefs. As always, Scarf trainees were paid award wages for their work. . Find out more here. . The Scarf x Rumi pop-up dinners which ran as part of Autumn Scarf '24 allowed trainees to gain solid work experience, while diners enjoyed a delicious Middle Eastern feast. .
