We’re thrilled to announce we’re running two ‘Pop Up’ Scarf Dinners at renowned Italian restaurant Ladro in Fitzroy. The dates for these very special dinners are:

Ladro is a longtime supporter of Scarf; allowing us to use their Gertrude Street venue for trainee interviews and training sessions since 2012. We also regularly hold our Scarf Graduation dinners there, because who doesn’t love pizza!? And cementing their legendary status, Ladro’s owners Ingrid and Sean have generously donated prizes to all of our ‘Do More Than Dine’ fundraising dinners since 2016. But this is the first time Scarf Dinners will run at Ladro and we are seriously excited.

.Seats at these dinners are extremely limited and we expect they’ll book up quickly! The Ladro chefs have whipped up a seriously tasty menu and they’ll be doing the cooking on the night (two courses, $45 per head). Entrees include Calamari with lime aioli and Polpette di melanzane (eggplant fritters) with Romesco and mains sound even tastier… you’ll have to choose from Lamb ribs with soft polenta, Pizza Pescatore or Risotto with pumpkin, artichoke and hazelnuts.

.

The front of house will be looked after by graduates of Scarf’s 3-day Tasting Plate ’19 program, which is running thanks to support from the Inner North Community Foundation. Trainees will be supported in the front of house by Scarf mentors – hospitality professionals who volunteer their time. Scarf trainees are paid the Restaurant Industry Award wage for their work at Scarf Dinners.

Scarf trainees are young people seeking protection, and those from refugee and migrant backgrounds facing barriers to work. They are paid the Restaurant Industry Award wage for their work during Scarf Dinners. Scarf mentors are hospitality professionals who volunteer their time so that trainees can build skills and confidence while gaining supported, paid work experience.
